About Us
SCHOOLS NorthEast was established in 2007 to provide an independent voice for all schools in the North East region. It is the first network of its kind in the UK and is led by seven Trustees and a Director. The SCHOOLS NorthEast board of 26 Head Teachers from across the region consists of a primary and secondary head from each Local Authority area, a Head Teacher from the independent sector and a representative of special schools. The organisation represents the views of all the region's schools.
Our Vision
Our young people are confident, enterprising, skilled and aspiring; learning and developing within well-resourced, nurturing and purposeful school environments.
Our schools
have a powerful voice regionally and nationally. By working collaboratively and creatively with their peers and external partners, they develop expertise, shape policy and drive change. Enjoying the resounding confidence of students, parents, communities, employers and decision-makers, schools in our region are recognised as centres of innovation and the benchmark of excellence.
Our region is vibrant, self reliant and outward looking, featuring a dynamic economy, healthy environment and distinctive culture.
