Schools' Fund Finder

Many schools find that accessing appropriate funding at the right time to be a difficult, time consuming, and often fruitless task. Government and regional funding streams tend to follow a “one-size-fits-all” approach decided from the centre that is often for a trial or limited time span only. Valuable programmes often have to be abandoned when central funding runs out and funds are targeted toward the latest new initiative.

Bid writing expertise within schools is often very limited outside of the bigger secondary schools making it difficult to access funding, especially when funding deadlines are often very tight.

Schools’ Fund Finder will be a web-based resource that will enable all schools within the SCHOOLS NorthEast network access to timely and accurate information regarding available funding streams and sources. In particular, it will enable schools to access funding from hundreds of private foundations to pay for programmes that are not catered for by national or regional government bodies. It will build confidence and capacity, share knowledge and expertise, strengthen relationships between schools, and support regional regeneration at a local level.
