Recruitment Support
Many schools find recruiting suitable NQT and GTP candidates to be a difficult, time consuming, and often “hit and miss” exercise. Personal contact with the universities at just the right time can be vital. Such relationships can rely on contact occurring coincidentally with opportunity and often fails to draw in potential candidates from outside of one’s sub-region. This can lead to talent being under-utilised or lost to the North East’s schools as candidates pursue opportunities outside of the region.
This project will build upon existing relationships between schools and universities in the North East to create a single point of access for schools wishing to advertise vacancies and universities that want to assist their students in gaining employment.
This will be a web-based resource that will enable all schools within the SCHOOLS NorthEast network access to teaching recruits. It will enable them to post timely and accurate information regarding available schools vacancies. In particular, it will enable schools to access candidates from across the North East region. It will reduce costs, increase capacity, strengthen relationships between schools and universities, and support regional regeneration at a local level.
