Improving pupil motivation and engagement with an international dimension to learning

Tuesday 5 July 2016, 09:30 – 15:00
The Castlegate, Newcastle upon Tyne

A FREE full day conference for senior leaders and classroom practitioners from all phases and sectors demonstrating links between pupil motivation and the development of an international perspective to learning through a series of local case studies.

The event will allow consideration of how schools can successfully embed international work into the curriculum using a variety of approaches. Colleagues from local and international schools will outline school linking opportunities, present curriculum resources and innovative teaching practice. In addition, there will be opportunity to reflect on current provision and receive information provided about national and European funding programmes.

Our region has a strong tradition of schools embracing global linking to help our learners and staff develop a positive outlook towards cultural and linguistic difference. This conference will celebrate achievement and share best practice which underpin work to encourage respect for people of all faiths, races and cultures. Early application for limited places is strongly recommended.
