Imagine IF....Cultural learning inspires young people to learn more, to do more and become more.

Culture Bridge North East presents its first cultural education conference for school leaders, teachers and cultural professionals.

Speakers include:
Dr Tina Gharavi, Senior Lecturer in Digital Media/Film: Newcastle University
Tina is a BAFTA nominated award winning filmmaker/screenwriter. Her work has been broadcast internationally and she is noted for documentary, fiction and cross platform interactive work as well as using innovative techniques to bring untold stories of marginalised people and subjects to a mainstream audience and to empower those who can, to tell their own stories.

Mark Londesborough, Programme Manager: Royal Society of Arts
Mark leads a number of projects working with students, teachers and schools, including the RSA academies' Performing Arts Hub, which is creating a new model for strategic engagement between schools and professional arts organisations. Previously, Mark worked in applied theatre, including roles with Geese, the National Theatre and the Tricycle, where he was Creative Learning Director. Mark is a trustee of youth arts charity Phakama.

Paul Callaghan
Paul founded the Leighton Group, a North East based technology, software, media & communications company. He is currently the Chairman of Sunderland University’s Board of Governors, Chair of NewcastleGateshead Initiative and of Live Theatre. A trustee of the Northern Education Trust and Red House Academy, he is genuinely passionate about helping the North East region to grow and prosper. He believes that this is only possible by extending education, culture and the arts and by developing a talented and well educated population.

Workshops:
Each workshop will look at one of the following themes and include three presentations:
 Inspiring learning through Artsmark
 Building partnerships to enrich learning
 Exploring quality and the impact of cultural engagement
Delegates will be asked to sign up for two workshops.
