Science Saves Lives

Please come and join Framwellgate School Durham for this free event aimed at young people in Years 11, 12, 13 who are interested in careers in the medical profession.

This medical science focused event has been created by a sixth former from Framwellgate School Durham who would like to encourage young people to consider the different careers that are available in the medical profession, not just doctors and nurses.

Working in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University the day will have a series of interactive workshops delivered by a team of Allied Health Professionals – those amazing people who are an essential part of diagnosis, treatment and support.

After a keynote speech students will have the opportunity to work in workshops to develop their understanding of the different professions there are within the sector.

Applying for any medical degree is competitive so there will also be an opportunity to hear what is expected in an application and also an opportunity to hear about some of the questions that maybe asked at interview.

This conference will highlight skills for a diversity of professions and broaden the options for students, but also give them a rare opportunity to speak to people in medical sector and ask any questions. The whole day will bring together key aspects of medicine and be an amazing opportunity for anyone wanting to enter a healthcare profession.

There will also be a number of STEM Ambassadors to speak to throughout the lunchtime to further inspire your students.

Students are to bring a packed lunch, however all other refreshments will be provided.
