Learning at Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums (TWAM) brings learning to life across 12 different venues, each with their own unique collections. With amazing collections of archaeology, art, history and natural science, some of them of national and international importance, we have something to offer everyone. TWAM’s highly skilled and enthusiastic Learning Team can support you and your students over the academic year. Our diverse collections are interpreted by a range of subject specialists, and our learning opportunities are designed to effectively meet the current needs of schools, by adapting to changes taking place in the education sector. Our inspiring venues and collections are a powerful resource that are capable of enriching the learning of all ages and abilities, helping to make a positive difference to people’s lives In our venues, through our websites and in dialogue with our learning teams, you will find great ideas to support your teaching. Workshops, activities, exhibitions and resources are available from Early Years up through the different Key Stages. From self-led resources to facilitated workshops, whole school projects or supporting you in developing new resources, there are many ways TWAM can inspire your students and challenge them to explore their world. We welcome all learners and believe in museums and galleries as places for curiosity, awe, intrigue, wonder, mystery, reflection and fun. Entry to our venues is free for all children; however there are charges for some facilitated activities and resources. More details about prices and how to book a workshop can be found on our webpage. To find out all the latest news and information please visit our schools website www.exploreyourmusuems.com
